I've just completed this 22 x 28" portrait
of our granddaughter, Skylar Adams ~
It is a black, grey and white painting with
pink touches (her favorite color)
Skylar and her Mom, Dad, and baby brother
will be up for Thanksgiving and I will
present them with the painting then.

Portraits make great Christmas presents ~

Finally, I have completed and
installed the two Civil War
Soldiers on the Andersonville
Arch!  The Soldiers are a full
eight foot tall and cut out of 12
gauge steel.  It was a fun
project, especially installing
them - I got to ride in a bucket
way up high!
My cousin, Bob Zills, was the
Project Technical Advisor and I
couldn't have made it without
his help!

I did some furniture "renovation" for myself - this desk
and table had a tired wood grain finish with all the nicks and
scratches acquired from years of use and abuse!

New color and marbleized tops really did the trick!

Here are Johnny Reb
and Frederick the Union Soldier.
I named him after my Great
grandfather, Frederick Hayes,
who served in a New Jersey Unit.
I have done a lot of things around the house and place recently -  painted all three porches,
built a low brick retaining wall for the back yard and laid some sod out there, painted some
doors, recovered the dining room chairs - all things that needed doing.  Tonight is our first
cold night and I suppose the inpatients will wilt with the 34 degree weather, but they have
certainly given lots of color all summer!  Ken cut a dead oak so we are well supplied with
firewood for the winter.  We are fixing up a little buggy for the minature donkeys, Jack and
Jill, to pull.  I can't wait to put them into a parade!  We just did a beautiful wedding in
Americus.  Here is a picture of Josh and Jenny Strange just before climbing into their
wedding carriage.
