Spring 2010 Newletter
LindaAdamsDesigns.com
After a long, cold, and wet Winter, the flowering trees have bloomed and the new
leaves are filling out here in Schley County.  This year didn't start out very good.  As
many of you know, I had surgery to take out part of my colon and I am now taking
chemotherapy.  I have had 4 of 12 chemotherapy treatments and I am learning how
to handle the side effects.  Actually, since the treatments are two weeks apart, I have
one down week and one week when I can actually do some work!  I have done 80%
of the construction and painting of a Grassroots Arts Program Puppet  Theatre
which is shown below.  I painted a cat for Lisa Greene who won the silent auction
for a pet portrait at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner.

We attended a beautiful wedding
at Casa Felize in
Winter Park, Florida,
on March 14th
Here is a photo of my sister, Martha,
her son, Jecoa, and his bride, Nicole.
The place, the decorations, the people,
the food, just everything was wonderful!

My Advocacy Hand-out Card

The Puppet Theatre will be housed
in the Schley County Public Library
but it will be available to be
'checked-out' by organizations for
community use.

There will be two side panels that
will be attached to this central
panel.  Also a red velvet stage
curtain and a printed backdrop.  It
has been great fun to paint!

Of course, my camera hog,
Casper, has to get in almost every
picture I have taken of this project!
At least he gives scale!
I have entered the Lilly Oncology on Canvas competition for 2010.
It is a world wide collection of paintings, accompanied by a 100 word
narrative, by cancer patients, friends and family and health card providers.
Some are printed into an annual book for distribution to cancer care facilities.
Others are displayed in centers.  My entry will feature a full moon, an eagle,
and a negative image of myself and will be painted in acrylic paints.  It has to
be submitted by June 30th so I had better get busy!
